The 2010 recipient of the St. Louis Texas Exes Scholarship is Ranny Tang. Ranny will be a freshman at the University of Texas at Austin majoring in Business.
Since it was organized in 1885, one of the Texas Exes Association’s main purposes has been to provide scholarships for future students. Chapter scholarships benefit entering freshmen or transfer students who are new to the University, and they are selected by Texas Exes from their own communities. The Eyes of Texas Annual Giving Fund provides $500 matching gifts to chartered Texas Exes chapters that raise money for these scholarships. Dedicated Scholarships have been established by loyal alumni, friends, and students of The University of Texas as memorials and in recognition of excellence. The Texas Exes present the Texas Excellence Awards for Scholarship and Leadership to top high school scholar/leaders to attend the University and to become part of its proud tradition. Every year, the Texas Exes administer roughly $2.5 million to more than 800 students.
